Methodology
1. Design for Low Waste: We strive to minimize waste throughout our production process by reusing ALL scraps for future collections, starting with our debut line.
- We’re also working on creating a permanent section on our website where we’ll repurpose unique, high-quality old textiles into accessories. This section will showcase items like duvet covers, tablecloths, and curtains with a story and history behind them. Often found in limited quantities, these textiles won’t be able to make an entire collection but will have their own dedicated space for creative design.
2. Design for Low Impact Materials & Process:
- We focus on using natural organic fabrics and natural dyes to minimize environmental impact.
3. Design for Longevity:
- Our innovative Track-Your-Wear (TYW) label helps consumers monitor how often they wear each garment, encouraging longevity. Learn more about it below
- By paying close attention to pattern-making and ensuring a great fit, we encourage frequent wear. Increased usage helps reduce waste and contributes to sustainability.
- Quality craftsmanship guarantees that well-sewn garments last longer, further promoting durability and environmental responsibility.
4. Design for Recyclability :
Since we exclusively use natural fabrics, our garments are easier to recycle and more likely to biodegrade.
Education:
While we are a fashion brand, we are committed to educating consumers to foster an appreciation for quality fashion and promote conscious decision-making. We cherish this profession and are passionate about sharing it, which is why we want to showcase every step that goes into creating a garment, enriching the consumer’s understanding. Our aim is to educate, primarily through our social media channels. Join us in learning fashion basics.
If you have any proposals that could help us reach this goal, feel free to contact us. We are constantly reviewing and working toward a better future for fashion.
Track Your Wear
We are excited to introduce our new signature Track-Your-Wear (TYW) Label: An innovative tool to help you monitor garment usage. This encourages wearers to develop a deeper appreciation for their clothing while engaging in a fun and interactive way.
The idea is simple: each time you wear the garment, mark a cross in the table below. This allows you to track how often the garment is worn, providing valuable insights into your habits. Once the chart is fully marked, it indicates that the garment has been well-loved and its value fully realized.
In today’s disposable culture, this seemingly small yet powerful gesture can have a significant impact.
Moreover, by physically marking each wear, you create an emotional connection with the garment, leading to greater appreciation and care. More usage and thoughtful care ultimately lead to positive outcomes. We encourage you to give this fun feature a try!
Fabrics & azo-free dyes
We have carefully selected Indian-sourced fabrics, including hemp, silk, and cotton, which we wholeheartedly trust as our primary source. Working exclusively with natural materials allows us to further convey the idea of tension relief. That is because research shows that what we wear close to our skin influences us profoundly. We opted for azo-free dyes for some textiles due to their non-harming properties. Pink and red are achieved using natural dyes from madder root, while blue is obtained from natural indigo leaves. It takes twice the amount of energy to produce 1kg of polyester compared with 1kg of cotton.
